SUSAN McCARTHY
Bearsville, New York
Career Physical Therapist with past professional experience in both clinical and academic settings.
Her understanding of anatomy and the use of her hands in her profession allow her freedom to search for the inner truth of her artwork.
Apprenticed in stone carving under Devorah Sperber at the Woodstock Guild's
Byrdcliffe Studios from November 1998 through the summer of 2001.
Initially began in the visual arts in black and white photography after studying at the Maine Photographic Workshop's summer sessions in 1981, 1982 and 1983 continuing
at the New School in the spring of 1984.
