"I live through Spirit and The Creative.
Communications and relationships are important."
Barbara Phelps McMichael paints her life-journal.
Watercolors, pastels, and oils depict her beloved
Wellfleet, Cape Cod, the Catskills and Mid-Hudson River Valley,
where she has lived and painted since 1974. In 1982 she survived
clinical death and ten days of coma and paralysis
as an auto accident passenger.
Dynamic-energy abstracts in oil pastels are among her
recent works, expressing a love of color and movement.
She has expressed a passion for creative communication
in her years as a writer in NYC advertising and
architectural public relations.
Subsequently, Barbara used art therapy in
her independent practice as a credentialed,
wholistic psychotherapist-hypnotherapist
in New York and the Mid-Hudson Valley.
She is now retired and paints, a dream come true.
Barbara is a lifelong artist who has studied in Rochester, NY,
privately and in classes in New York City, and
the Hudson River Valley where she continues to do so.
